Target Audience
Suitably qualified employees nominated to lead an Emergency Response Team (ERT) in their workplace
Aims
- Upon completion of this course students will have the skills & expertise necessary to lead an Emergency Response Team. (ERT)
- They will understand the basics of teamwork and leadership of an ERT • They will understand the strategic & tactical approaches to scenarios
- They will understand the offensive & defensive approaches to Fire Fighting
- They will be able to control an ERT and be mindful of all safety matters
- Prerequisites
Attendees should have completed the Fire Team Member course or have a good understanding of all Fire Fighting Basics
Students must attend wearing suitable safety footwear & clothing

Through a series of theoretical & practical sessions participants will be able to…:
Understand the basics of Fire Team Leadership
Hazard Recognition
Understand the difference between Strategic & Tactical Planning
Understand the differences between Defensive & Offensive Fire Fighting
Be capable of utilising Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) safely
Understand & appreciate the importance of correct Fire Fighting media selection
Understand the principles of Fire Spread
Be capable of producing an Emergency Response plan
Duration
Three days - This course is assessable throughout its duration
